Gabriel Suárez Cejuela at the mixing desk

Make your music sound the way it does in your head.

Your music is recorded, but the rough mix isn't there yet. I mix rock, orchestral music, soundtracks and jazz. Work with me in person, or online: you see my screen, talk to me on camera and hear the mix live in full quality.

On your side of the glass

You've lived with this music for months. I make it hit the way you meant, without sanding off what makes it yours.

You want your music to sound bigger, wider and deeper. In every genre I mix, the goal is the same: make the raw material sound as big as it can. I enhance what's there, unmask what's hidden and let you hear your tracks how you imagined them.

I'm a composer myself, and I've played in bands for years. I've engineered in orchestral studios and at Abbey Road.

Today I'm an independent recording and mixing engineer, based at Boom Studios in Porto.

How I work on your song

I treat the mix as the last production stage.

  1. YOU

    Your vision

I start with how you hear the record in your head, and do what it takes to get it there: drum samples, tighter timing, vocal tuning, effects, synth layers, sometimes even an arrangement idea. It's all in the price per song.

  2. THE SONG

    Its message

What is the song saying? Every choice I make has to serve that.

  3. THE LISTENER

    A journey

No song is static. Instruments and arrangements move and change as the song goes. That takes a lot of automation, and it's why my mixes are never static. Movement.

First call free, no deposit until it's a fit. Unlimited revisions, no setup fee. Whole album? Ask about the pack discount.

Orchestral music and soundtracks. These are quoted once I've seen the session. For picture, you get the stereo mix and the stems for the dub. Atmos mixing is possible on request.

Reamping. If you recorded guitar or bass with no amp (DI), I can run it through real amps in the studio, priced per song on top of the mix.

Mastering. I can master your songs too, from €50 per track.

Before you decide

Is there a better price for a whole album?

Yes. If we mix a whole album together, there's a pack discount. Put the number of songs in the form and I'll include the discount in your quote.

Do you only mix, or can you fix and add things too?

Yes, whenever the song needs it. I add drum samples, edit and tighten the timing, tune vocals, build effects and transitions, add synth or pad layers, and in some cases suggest arrangement ideas. It's all included in the price per song.

Do you mix orchestral music and soundtracks?

Yes. They're quoted once I've seen the session, not priced by the cards. Send me the session or the stems, and your mockup if you have one. For picture, you get the stereo mix and the stems for the dub.

Can you reamp my DI guitars and bass?

Yes. Reamping means sending your DI guitar and bass tracks through real amplifiers and cabinets and recording the result. I do it in a real room at Boom Studios in Porto, then mix with those tones. It is priced per song, on top of the mix.

Is mastering included?

Not in the mix price, but I can master your songs too, from €50 per track. Tick "Add mastering" in the form or mention it on the call.

What if I don't like the mix?

Then we keep going. Revisions are unlimited, and I work from your notes, not my own taste, until the mix sounds the way you hear it. I've never needed more than three or four rounds.

Can we work together if I'm not in Portugal?

Yes. While I work I keep a live audio link (Audiomovers) and a video stream open. Join whenever you like and tell me what you think, as if you were in the studio.

How do I send you my files?

Send a link from WeTransfer, Dropbox, Google Drive or any cloud service. What to include is under "What to send" below.

What to send, and what you get back

You send

  1. Every track as its own audio file, each starting at the very beginning of the song, even if the instrument comes in later
  2. Each file named by instrument (Kick, Bass, Lead vocal), with the effects on your master channel off
  3. Your rough mix, as you’ve been listening to it
  4. Two or three reference songs, and what you like about each

You receive

  1. Your mix as a studio-quality WAV (24-bit), plus an instrumental
  2. The mix split into groups like drums, guitars and vocals (called stems), if you want them
  3. Unlimited revisions, each with a short note on what I changed and why

Never exported tracks? Say so on the call. It takes five minutes to walk through.

I also write music for film, games and ads.
