What this site collects, and why
When you send the contact form
Your name, your email, what you need, any add-ons you tick, your message and the page you sent it from. I use them only to reply to you and to quote your project, because you asked me to (GDPR Article 6(1)(b), steps before a contract).
Resend, an email service, delivers the form to my mailbox. To stop spam, the site counts how many messages come from one internet address in a minute; that count isn’t kept.
When you visit
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which handles your internet address and browser details to deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks. I count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn’t identify you. I do both because I have a legitimate interest in keeping the site safe and knowing which pages people read (Article 6(1)(f)).
When you watch a video
The video previews load from YouTube’s servers, so Google receives your internet address as they appear on screen. Nothing else from YouTube loads until you press Play. Then YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player starts, which may store data on your device and tell Google what you watched. Google’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab) applies.
When you book a call
The booking link opens Calendly’s own site. What you enter there reaches me so I can hold the call, and Calendly’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab) applies to it. Nothing from Calendly loads on this site.
Cookies
Nothing on this site stores anything in your browser, which is why you don’t see a cookie banner. YouTube’s player may, once you press Play on a video.
Who else handles it
Only the services the site runs on: Cloudflare (hosting and visit counts), Resend (delivering the form), my email provider (where your message is kept), Google (YouTube videos) and Calendly (bookings). I don’t sell your data, share it with anyone else or use it for advertising.
Some of these companies are based in the United States. When your data leaves the EU, the safeguards in their data-protection terms cover it, such as the EU’s standard contractual clauses.
How long I keep it
If your message doesn’t turn into a project, I delete it 12 months after your last message.
If we work together, I keep invoices and the details on them for as long as Portuguese tax law requires (currently ten years), and our emails about the project for as long as I keep its files.
Your rights
You can ask me for a copy of the data I hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to limit what I do with it or to stop using it, and for a copy in a format you can take elsewhere. Write to hello@gabrielsuarezcejuela.com and I’ll answer within a month.
If you think I’ve handled your data wrongly, you can complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, CNPD (opens in a new tab), or to the authority where you live.
Complaints and disputes
If something goes wrong, tell me first and I’ll do my best to put it right.
If we can’t settle a dispute between us, you can take it to a consumer dispute-resolution centre:
- CICAP (Centro de Informação de Consumo e Arbitragem do Porto) (opens in a new tab)
- CNIACC (Centro Nacional de Informação e Arbitragem de Conflitos de Consumo) (opens in a new tab)
More information is on the Portal do Consumidor (opens in a new tab).
